ULTRIX Worksystem Software Release Notes

This document contains the Release Notes for ULTRIX Worksystem Software (UWS) Version 4.0, published in June 1990. It is primarily intended for new users and those migrating from previous UWS versions (V2.0, V2.1, V2.2).

The notes detail significant updates, new features, bug fixes, known issues, and documentation changes across various software components:

• UWS X Servers: Includes bug fixes and the integration of the Display PostScript (DPS) System extension. It lists different server types (e.g., Xqdsg, Xcfb, Xgb) and provides guidance on keyboard keymaps, console messages, and X server restart procedures.
• Xlib Library: Details changes and additions to data structures and programming interfaces to support Inter-Client Communication Conventions. It notes the introduction of new Xlib programming interfaces and the obsolescence of some functions and constants.
