FCO DWZZA-AA-F002, OSF/1 Systems with ASE DECsafe Software

This Field Change Order (FCO) addresses a "BUS hang" problem that occurs on OSF/1 systems utilizing ASE DECsafe software when two or more DWZZA-AA or DWZZA-VA units, shipped before September 1994, are connected to a differential SCSI bus.

To resolve this issue, the FCO mandates an upgrade: DWZZA-AA units must be at revision E01 or greater, and DWZZA-VA units at revision F01 or greater. Users are instructed to check the option tag for their current revision status. An alternative FCO, FCO-DWZZA-AA-S001, if already installed for specific DWZZA-AA serial numbers (CX409xxxxx to CX420XXXX), makes this FCO unnecessary.
