FCO DRB32-E-F001, Modules shipped with ECO implemented incorrectly.

Order Number: EQ-01680-01

This document is a Field Change Order (FCO DRB32-E-F001) addressing an issue where DRB32-E (T1024) modules were shipped with a specific Engineering Change Order (ECO T1024-TWO003) incorrectly implemented. The FCO aims to check and upgrade all affected T1024 field spares.

The core problem is that some modules have faulty ECO implementation affecting two application-dependent signal lines, DRB32NODEACTIVEIN and DRB32NODEACTIVEOUT. While no diagnostic failure will occur, problems may arise if these signals are utilized. Manufacturing and stockrooms had already purged existing affected modules by April 23, 1993.

The FCO provides a "VISUAL CHECK/QUICK CHECK" procedure (estimated at 10 minutes) to identify incorrectly installed ECOs. This involves visually inspecting the T1024 module for specific modifications to chip E41 and resistor R143, verifying lifted pins and correct wiring. If an incorrect implementation is found, the module should be labeled as Defective On Arrival (DOA), returned for upgrading via expedited shipping to SR #126, and replaced with a correct kit (EQ-01680-01). The document also includes FCO parts information and charging details for various contract and warranty scenarios.
