FCO BA123-I001, DC power cables

This Field Change Order (FCO) document, BA123-I001, addresses an issue with DC power cables in all BA123 Enclosures. The original DC power cables (P/N 17-00865-01) are prone to overheating during normal use because their current rating is insufficient for the derated components in the BA123 box.

The FCO mandates the replacement of these faulty cables with new DC Power Cables (P/N 17-01311-02). The installation process, estimated to take one hour, involves safely shutting down the system, removing AC power, gaining access to the cables by opening the control panel and removing a side panel, disconnecting the old cables from the power supply and backplane, and installing the new ones. Finally, the system is powered back up and a self-test is performed. The FCO also requires updating the Site Management Guide and reporting LARS data.

The order requires two new wire harness assemblies (P/N 17-01311-02) and one FCO document. Approximately 10,020 units are affected, and the parts became available in January 1988.
