FCO 9XXX-S006, VAX 9XXX-4XX cabinets may tip when moved

This document is Field Change Order (FCO) 9XXX-I006, addressing a safety concern with VAX 9XXX-4XX system cabinets. The problem is that these cabinets may tip over when they are moved. The solution requires installing a stabilizer assembly (part number 70-28933-01, kit EQ-01622-01) whenever the cabinets are being repositioned.

The installation procedure involves placing the stabilizer assembly under the center of the cabinet's rear lip, pushing it up until it bottoms out, and then securing it with a locking screw. Once the cabinet is correctly positioned, the locking screw is loosened, and the stabilizer assembly is removed. The stabilizer assembly is to remain at the customer site for future use. The estimated time for this procedure is 0.1 hours, and the FCO activity should be reported on the LARS form. This FCO was released in August 1991.
