FCO 9XXX-F013, Noise on the module causes false error reports

This document is a Field Change Order (FCO 9XXX-F013) issued on November 18, 1991, to address false error reports in VAX 9000 Power Control Systems caused by noise on a module.

The problem specifically identifies that noise on the module leads to inaccurate error reports. The solution requires replacing the existing D-Card (part number 54-17961-01) attached to the MPS Backplane of each BI-Expander Cabinet in the affected VAX 9000 systems.

This FCO is applicable to systems with DWMBB-HA/HB JA/JB FA or GA, and its implementation will update the DWMBB revision to "C." Field spares must also be upgraded. The procedure involves a system shutdown, accessing the BI Expander cabinet, carefully removing the old D-Card, installing a new D-Card (EQ-01632-01) from the FCO kit, and then restoring the system. The estimated time for this change is 1.0 hour, and the activity must be reported on the LARS form.
