FCO 85XBA-R006, Retrofit VAX 85xx systems to rev "E1"

This Field Change Order (FCO 85XBA-R006) outlines a retrofit procedure for all VAX 85XX systems to bring them to Revision Level "E1". It incorporates ECO BT-ZMAAD-C3-LK002 (New Part Rev V22E) and addresses several issues, including:

• Remote Port problems causing character loss and issues with the "Disable Local Console" command.
• Inability to initiate I, U, and START commands without halting the machine.
• Requirement to type the full word "TEST" for micro diagnostics.
• System crashes when the PRO is powered off (requiring Console Rev "22E" and VMS V4.6 for the fix).
• "Read Retry Timeout" errors from the NBIB when multiple interlock-capable devices are on the BI, fixed by a CPU microcode change.

The installation is estimated to take 3.0 hours. Upon completion, the console should show V5.0. A unique physical modification is required: replacing the first '0' in the "8500" logo on the front of the machine with a '3' (making it "8530").
