FCO 51XXX-0001, Module mag indicators inadvertently set

This Field Change Order (FCO 51XXX-0001/52XXX-0002/55XXX-0001) details a retrofit procedure for T3001-AA CIO modules to resolve issues caused by inadvertently set module magnetic indicators, which led to problem installations and system crashes on Model VAXft 612 during shutdown.

The solution involves updating the RBD PROM by replacing a ROM (Part Number 23-327E9-00) on affected T3001-AA modules. This FCO is applicable to all T3001-AA CIO modules below Revision P* and should only be installed on field spares.

The installation procedure emphasizes the use of an Electrostatic Field Service (VELOSTAT) kit to prevent damage to sensitive devices. Technicians are instructed to check the ROM part number in the kit, replace the old ROM (P/N 23-155E9-00 at E23) with the new one, apply updated Brady markers (N* to P*), and then return the module to stock while discarding the old ROM according to standard policies.
