This document is the User's Guide for the Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) HSD10 Array Controller, part of the StorageWorks™ family solutions, published in May 1995. It provides comprehensive information for customers and Digital employees responsible for configuring, installing, operating, and maintaining the HSD10 array controller.

The guide covers:

• Overview: A detailed description of the HSD10 array controller's features, including its RAID 0 capability, 32MB cache, and support for DSSI/SCSI. It also introduces the StorageWorks Building Block (SBB) shelf and environmental specifications.
• Configuration: Information on operating requirements, shelf power, DSSI cabling, and various supported configurations such as single-controller, dual-controller, and failover setups.
• Installation: Step-by-step procedures for site preparation, unpacking, physical installation into an SBB shelf, initial power-up, LED indicator interpretation, and setting controller parameters via OpenVMS utilities or serial communications.
