VAX APL Reference Manual

This document is the VAX APL Reference Manual (AA-GV09C-TE), published in June 1991, for VAX APL version 4.0 running on VMS Version 5.4.

It serves as a comprehensive reference guide, detailing:

• VAX APL primitive functions and operators (including scalar and mixed functions like arithmetic, logical, relational functions, and operators such as slash, backslash, and dot).
• VAX APL system variables and functions (providing control over the APL environment, interaction with the VMS operating system, and I/O capabilities).
• VAX APL system commands (for managing APL sessions and manipulating workspaces).

The manual is intended for experienced APL programmers and is not designed as a tutorial for novice users.
