Data 100 / ODEC Chain Printer

This document describes the Data 100 / ODEC Chain Printer, a type of printer that uses a belt with sets of characters that continuously move across the paper. Hammers strike the paper against an inked ribbon to print the correct character when it is positioned under the hammer. This particular printer has 66 hammers and 132 print positions, and operates at a speed of 125 lines per minute, placing it at the lower end of the chain printer spectrum. Higher-end models could print over 1000 lines per minute.
