vtAlpha-DS is a product that allows Alpha computer systems to be virtualized, enabling their software to run on modern environments like X86 computers, virtual machines, or the cloud without requiring software migration. This significantly saves effort, time, and money. It supports various Alpha system replacements, including AlphaServer DS10, DS15, DS20, DS25, and 1200. The system works by creating virtual Alpha hardware interfaces that the original operating system and programs expect, translating in real-time between the old and new worlds. This facilitates the use of modern storage, backup, and IT infrastructures.

Key features include:

• CPU and Memory: Supports 1-2 virtual Alpha CPUs and up to 32 GB of virtual Alpha memory.
• Operating Systems: Compatible with OpenVMS (min. 7.1-2) and Tru64 (min. 4.0F), with clustering support for both.
• Storage Subsystem: Presents virtualized Alpha hardware interfaces and supports modern storage devices like SAS, SATA, SAN, iSCSI, and NFS. It handles physical and logical disks, tapes, CD-ROMs, and direct SCSI-attached devices.
• Network Subsystem: Offers support for various Ethernet adapters and virtual network switch capabilities, along with VLAN infrastructure.
