Vtalpha-BS (Basic Systems) Product Description

vtAlpha-BS is a software product that allows Alpha computer systems to be moved to a modern environment (X86, VM, or Cloud) without requiring software migration. It emulates Alpha hardware interfaces, enabling existing Alpha software to run unchanged. This solution supports various Alpha system variants and offers features like virtual CPU and memory, various storage options (physical and logical disks, tapes, CD-ROMs, direct SCSI), network connectivity through supported Ethernet adapters and VLANs, and serial line support. It also includes license protection, a system management tool (vtMonitor), and a secure environment. vtAlpha installs directly on the host system without needing a pre-installed OS, offering a bare-metal installation. The product includes a base license for one virtual Alpha system and offers optional annual software support and disaster recovery licenses.
