Obituary for Robert B. White

Robert B. White, of Framingham and formerly of Braintree, passed away on September 24, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Eileen M. (Carey). A graduate of Braintree High in 1953, he dedicated nine years to service in the Navy as a Radioman. Post-Navy, he worked for a radio station in Virginia, where he pursued his passion for aviation, earning a pilot's license and owning a small plane for flying adventures. He later graduated from Northeastern Institute of Technology as an Electronic Technician and retired from Digital Equipment Corporation. Robert was a passionate outdoorsman, an avid hiker and mountain climber who scaled all the Presidential Mountains in NH, and a skier affiliated with the Massa-Schusser Ski Club. He also had a great love for gardening, cultivating both flowers and vegetables. He is survived by his wife, his brother Terence P. White, his sister Stephanie Gray, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Richard and Eloise Carey, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for the Crohn's Disease Foundation.
