This errata sheet for the VAXstation 4000 Options Installation Guide (September 1992) provides important updates and corrections for customers regarding:
- SCSI IDs for TURBOchannel PMAZ: Users should only use SCSI IDs 0 through 5 for devices on the TURBOchannel PMAZ option. SCSI ID 6 is reserved for the controller on VMS, and ID 7 is reserved for the controller on UNIX.
- TURBOchannel Support: The VAXstation 4000 Model 90 supports both programmable I/O (like Ethernet and SCSI) and DMA (like FDDI) devices on the TURBOchannel Adapter, whereas the Model 60 only supports programmable I/O.
- Video Connector RFI Gasket: When installing a graphics module, the RFI gasket must be flush against the video connector to ensure compliance with FCC regulations.
- SPXgt Graphics Module Removal: To prevent damage, use the plastic standoff on the SPXgt graphics module as a pulling device to lift the frame buffer from the center connector, rather than pulling on the tail bracket.
