VAX 4000 Model (BA215) Installation Checklist

This document is the "VAX 4000 Model 200 (BA215) Installation Checklist," published by Digital Equipment Corporation in June 1991.

The checklist covers the entire installation process, including:

• Getting Started: Initial unpacking, checking contents against shipping lists, and reviewing warranty information (noting that professional installation might be required).
• Pre-Installation: Verifying site readiness (power, space, environmental conditions) and gathering tools.
• System Setup: Checking the shipment, positioning the system, installing the console terminal, and setting system controls.
• Connections: Connecting additional devices (terminals, printers, modems, network), DSSI cables (for dual-host systems), and the main system power cable.
• Initial Power-On: Turning on the system and selecting a language.
• Final Physical Steps: Attaching the front panel.
• Post-Installation: Learning system operation, running diagnostics, and installing operating system software.
