VT220

This document is a concise programmer's pocket guide for the Digital Equipment Corporation VT220 video terminal, serving as a summary of the more extensive VT220 Programmer Reference Manual. Published in its second edition in July 1984, it provides quick reference information for computer programmers on how to access and utilize the terminal's features.

The guide covers a broad spectrum of programming-related topics, including:

• Character Encoding: Detailed tables and descriptions for 7-bit ASCII, 8-bit codes, DEC Multinational Character Sets (C0, G0, C1, G1), DEC Special Graphics, and various National Replacement Character (NRC) sets (British, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Norwegian/Danish, Spanish, Swedish, Swiss).
• Control Mechanisms: Explanation of Escape Sequences, Control Sequences, and Device Control Strings used to manage terminal behavior.
